I asked to see a drinks menu and was told they don't have one.this should have been my first clue. We got there "early" on a Friday afternoon but the place was packed. We have watched this hotel get built, so a couple of friends and I wanted to check out the beautiful view from the rooftop bar. I plan to stay here during a slow weekend in the winter, once most of the tourists have left. I would ask for a higher floor next time. Very close to road so you hear constant traffic. We would hear people above us and next to us. We were also never told we would be charged for this. For a hotel that charges over $150 a night, they should provide parking for their guests. It stayed in the same spot we parked in on the first day when we arrived. The valet actually never even drove our car. Once checking out I noticed a $12 valet charge put on our final bill. The lady at the front desk told us to hand our keys over to the valet and that they would park our vehicle for us. When we checked in we asked where we need to park our vehicle. Rooftop bar had a great view & good drinks! Cons: Barely any parking. Five minute walk to all the stores, restaurants & breweries. They are located directly across from the water and public beach. Feels like a boutique hotel, different than anything else you will find in Traverse. Swanky interior and huge walk in stone shower. The hotel was much nicer than I expected, beautiful inside and the rooms were even better. This hotel was new & according to the map had a great location so we took a chance. It shouldn't take that long to get a drink and in a town like Traverse City, people expect friendly service. The view is amazing but the staff need some training on being friendly and efficient. There are many ways she could have nicely told us that we needed to cash out at the bar prior to taking a seat at a table. I understand the need to close out, but not all bars have the same policies. A cocktail server came over to our table (after over 30 minutes mind you) and we tried to order another drink and she was so incredibly rude when we told her we had a tab at the bar. We finally got a drink and then sat down at a table. The second time we stood at the bar for over 25 minutes and were completed ignored. The first time, the tables were full so we figured it was just because they were busy (even though there really aren't that many tables out there). However, we tried to go to the rooftop bar twice during our stay and had horrible service both times. The hotel was great - it was beautiful inside and the valet staff/front desk staff were great.
